EDC Las Vegas

A unique place where three of my favorite things can be appreciated all at once: art, large-scale logistics, and physical excellence.

Las Vegas

EDC is an experience like no other. The scale of it leaves you in awe. Over 500,000 people going to the Las Vegas motor speedway all with a shared love for music and the philosophy of PLUR (Peace, Love, Unity, and Respect). As a logistician myself, I enjoy attending these events and trying to figure out what makes them tick. How much revenue is generated, how much everything costs, how they get attendees, including myself to come back every year. Not just that but the athletic feat as well. Dancing and walking around from 7pm to 7am requires yearlong training. You simply can’t do it unless you have a high level of fitness.

Also stumbled into Tupac’s memorial site just walking around Vegas on this trip.

Trip rule: in every country, eat something most people I know wouldn’t dare try. Wince first, then a window into somebody else’s normal. Vietnam’s was balut, twice. Thailand’s was a sea bug the size of a small lobster.
